Ratings: Broadcast Finals for June 24, 2013

It was a busy night of TV with the Stanley Cup Finals, UNDER THE DOME series premiere, two special THE BIG BANG THEORY episodes and THE BACHELORETTE.

The most watched program of the night was the limited summer series UNDER THE DOME, on CBS. The premiere drew 13.5 million viewers and an impressive 3.3 rating in Adults 18-49. Those are numbers HAWAII FIVE-O never achieved this past season.  I knew the series do well, but I did not expect numbers this big. If the series can keep these numbers up through the summer, CBS may actually do OK this summer.

CBS made a good move having a full hour of THE BIG BANG THEORY lead into the new series. Instead of 4 million viewers and a 1.2 demo rating, from the regular line up, THEORY delivered over seven million viewers and a solid 2.0 rating in the A18-49 demographic.

NBC won the night with Game six of the Stanley Cup Finals. The game featuring the Blackhawks winning the cup, collected 8.2 million viewers and a 3.3 demo rating. It is one of the best rated games in three years.

Not to be out done, ABC had a bit of good news in the ratings. For the first time this season, the datings series saw a significant rise in the ratings. Last night's episode posted a 2.0 demo ratings and drew 6.6 million viewers, both season highs.

Sunday Night Network Averages:

ABC - 5.6 million viewers, 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49.

NBC - 7.7 million viewers, 3.1 rating in Adults 18-49.

CBS - 8.4 million viewers, 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49.

FOX - 1.6 million viewers, 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49.
CW - 0.6 million viewers, 0.2 rating in Adults 18-49
