Ratings: Broadcast Finals for May 8, 2013

AMERICAN IDOL and THE VOICE went head-to-head and the once dominant IDOL, barely edged VOICE in the A18-49 demographic, 2.9 to 2.8. For IDOL, the ratings were flat from the week before.

THE VOICE, with its 3rd edition of the week, rose 3.3 million viewers and 65% from last weeks clip show. The extra ratings boost also pushed NBC above ABC on the night's network averages.

CBS had a very stable night, finishing 2nd in both categories. The variance through the night was less than 10%. Survivor closes up shop on Sunday, while the two dramas end the season next week.

ABC, as a whole, was down from last week. Both new comedies posted smaller audience retensions from their lead ins. Both look to be doomed to one and done seasons.
