Ratings: Broadcast Finals for May 1, 2013

ABC finally premieres the sitcom THE FAMILY TOOLS and the reception appears to be so-so, at bets. The comedy drew just 5.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49. It dropped 22% of the viewers and 25% of the demo, from its lead in THE MIDDLE. Not a great start, but not bad either.

The spring ratings slide hit big time on Wednesday night. Most of the series were down from their last original episode. SURVIVOR, LAW & ORDER: SVU, MODERN FAMILY, AMERICAN IDOL, CRIMINAL MINDS and ARROW.

HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS hauled in its best numbers in three weeks, the last time an original MODERN FAMILY lead in. It is up nearly 1.5 million viewers and about 45% in the demo ratings, from last week. It looks to be a very lead in dependent program, but that is the case with all the ABC comedies, except MODERN FAMILY and THE MIDDLE.

Wednesday Night Network Averages:
FOX - 11.3 million viewers, 2.9 rating in Adults 18-49
CBS - 9.6 million viewers, 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49
