Ratings Review: THE NEIGHBORS

When I saw the first clip of THE NEIGHBORS, I was 100% sure it would be the first series to be cancelled by any broadcast network, for the 2012-13 season. But, lucky for it, it was scheduled between the two ABC comedies that draw good ratings, THE MIDDLE and MODERN FAMILY. That protection allowed the weird comedy to last a full season.

For its freshman season, THE NEIGHBORS drew an average of 5.96 million viewers and a A18-49 rating of 1.8. Those numbers do put it on the fence for renewal of a second season. But, based on the quick burn-off of episodes the last couple of months, does have one to wonder if its fate is already sealed.
