Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 12, 2013
CBS grabs the most viewers, while FOX takes the night in A18-49 ratings, on a repeat filled Tuesday evening.
The two hour season premiere of veteran cooking competition series, HELL'S KITCHEN, was the top program of the night with a 2.1 rating in the A18-49 demographic. Ad the 5.3 million viewers to the mix and HK was up 50% in viewers and 26% in the demo ratings from the comedy line up, two weeks earlier. Once HELL'S KITCHEN scales back to an hour, leading into NEW GIRL, the nights average should rise higher in the A18-49 demo.
As one cooking show begins, another comes to an end. THE TASTE had its season/series finale and the ratings reflect the lack of interest in the series. Just 3.5 million viewers and a low 1.2 demo rating was all the cooking show could muster.
Even with 42% of the schedule in repeats, the 10 p.m. hour had all three networks giving viewers fresh episodes. GOLDEN BOY won the battle with 8.5 million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating. Viewership was down close to a million viewers, but the demo ratings were flat from last week's episode, despite a repeat NCIS: LA lead in.
GOLDEN BOY generated nearly 2 million more viewers and 25% more in the demo ratings than 2nd place BODY OF PROOF (6.6 million, 1.2 demo). SMASH, as usual, was the lowest rated of the three programs. In fact, of the seven programs in originals, it was the lowest rated program of the night.
