Ratings: Broadcast Finals for February 28, 2013
The sweeps are over, so bring on the repeats. Last night only four of the 16 hours of programming from the five networks, were original episodes. CBS and the CW were the only two networks that were 100% repeats, while ABC and NBC aired burn off episodes of their low rated Thursday series.
But, FOX with AMERICAN IDOL was 100% new. But that didn't seem to matter much to viewers. Despite having THE BIG BANG THEORY in repeats, AI actually was down over 1 million viewers and off a 0.1 ratings point in the demo. THIS is the sign that AMERICAN IDOL may be done. I am sure FOX will milk another season or two out of it, but it is nothing close to the beast it once was.
NBC's two original sitcoms were battling out on who could get the least amount of viewers. For the night, 1600 PENN won with 2.2 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating. COMMUNITY had over a 1/2 million more viewers and 33% more in the demo ratings.
ON ABC ZERO HOUR has zero change of getting renewed. The numbers are near, if not below what LAST RESORT was pulling in, after ABC gave word it was cancelled after it's episode run. It kind of reminds me of ABC back in the 80's and 90's when THE COSBY SHOW and FRINDS dominated the hour and ABC was just filling space with whatever they could.
