Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of March 18, 2013
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #99:
Even without their dominate Thursday line up, CBS wins the week in viewers, A18-49, and A25-54 demographics, while FOX takes the A18-34 group.
For CBS when you preempt your strongest night and get less than half the normal ratings, you have to make it up on another night, in order to win the week. That is exactly what CBS did. It scheduled original episode on Monday through Wednesday knowing Thursday and Friday would take major hits on the weekly average. Saturday night coverage of the NCAA TOURNAMENT drew double to triple the numbers CRIME TIME encores bring in. Add that to a strong overrun of the tournament on Sunday night prime time, and CBS had enough horse power to win the week.
ABC came in a close second with strong performances on their own. SPLASH beat everyone's expectations and easily made the 20 in viewership. DANCING WITH THE STARS looks to have rebounded a bit from the sub-par ratings of the fall edition. BODY OF PROOF responded with an improved lead in to raise viewership by 50%.
FOX had a somewhat down week, despite taking the A18-34 crown. AMERICAN IDOL continues to shed viewers like a sheep dog loses hair in the summer. Even without the CBS big guns on Thursday night, AI could only muster a 2.9 demo rating. Lets see how the series responds now that THE VOICE and DANCING WITH THE STARS are back and capturing viewers for their talent show fixes.
For NBC. it is time to just breath again. This will be the last week of the season that horrind weekly numbers will bee seen. REVOLUTION and THE VOICE are back to pump up the numbers, plus Tuesdays will get a bump with THE VOICE kicking things off again.
