Fox Comedy on Thursdays?
I have been champion this move for weeks, if not months. Is FOX finally listening to me? Nah! Far from it.FOX is scheduling each of its three remaining sitcoms in Thursday slot for this spring, starting with a double dose of RAISING HOPE on March 28th, after the Thursday edition of AMERICAN IDOL. A week later, on April 4th, NEW GIRL and THE MINDY PROJECT will occupy the 9:00 p.m. hour.
If successful, could two of the sitcoms get moved to Thursday nights? Would FOX dare move X-FACTOR and AI back to a Tuesday/Wednesday schedule to accommodate a new 2hr block on Thursdays?
My vote is for the first option. Let NEW GIRL and another comedy get the needed exposure it would get with from both XF and AI as a lead in.So, if you are fans of these shows and support Thursday sitcoms at 9:00 p.m.' then be sure to watch them live those two weeks. No DVRing. Live eyeballs needed.
FOX could seize a great opportunity here by placing NEW GIRL and perhaps a new comedy this fall, in the 9 o'clock hour on Thursdays. ABC, CBS and the CW are airing dramas and NBC is in such shambles, they could easily take down anything they place there.
