Ratings: Broadcast Finals for January 25, 2013
38 percent of the Friday prime time schedule was in repeat mode. Nothing posted over a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 and only the CBS encores drew a total audience over 6 million viewers. The winter blahs have set in.
At 8:00 p.m., NIKITA and KITCHEN NIGHTMARES went heat to head as the only original shows for the hour. KITCHEN NIGHTMARES posted 3.8 million viewers (#4) and a 1.4 demo rating (#1). That is up 61% in viewers and 56% in the demo from its last original episode, back on December 21, 2012.
NIKITA, on the CW, collected a season high of 1.5 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating. Those are gains of about 25% in each category from the previous season highs. As we approach the February sweeps, we'll see if ratings can be maintained at this level.
At 9:00pm, a two hour DATELINE grabbed 5.5 million viewers (most by a non-CBS program), but only managed a 1.2 A18-49 rating. Although it attracted more viewers, it was 14% behind 20/20 in the demo ratings. Neither news program captured the attention of the viewing public on the night.
FOX won the night in the A18-49 ratings with a 1.3 rating averages, followed ABC at 1.2 and both CBS and NBC with a 1.1 rating. The CW finished up with a 0.5 rating. CBS easily takes the night in Viewers with a 7.5 million viewer average, followed by NBC with 5.1 million, ABC with 4.7 million, FOX with 3.5 million and finally the CW with 1.2 million.
