NBC and the World Series dominate the weeks ratings, in 1997. All five games played in the week take the top five spots, including Game #7 as the top program of the week. That deciding game drew 38 million viewers. In comparison to 15 years later, in 2012. The finale World Series game (game #4) drew just 15 million viewers.NBC won the week by more than 5 ratings points over second place CBS.
CBS had the weeks top movie (MIRACLE IN THE WOODS) with over 21 million viewers. The Sunday night movie starred Meredith Baxter, Della Reese and Patricia Heaton. If you look at a snap shot at 9:00 PM that Sunday night, the five broadcast networks drew roughly 86 million viewers. That same week in 2012 drew just 50.5 million viewers over the four networks.
