Ratings Archives: Week of November 3, 1997

The first full week of the November sweeps had a little bit of a wrinkle for NBC. Some how CBS' TOUGHED BY AN ANGEL was the #3 show for the week, while freshmen sitcom UNION SQUARE only managed 10th.

UNION SQUARE had THE prime spot in all of TV. Sandwiched between FRIENDS and SEINFELD. This week, the series lost 20% of the audience FRIENDS delivered. Not a good sign of longevity.

The Sunday night movie battle was won by CBS with part 1 of THE THIRD TWIN. It drew 17.8 million viewers, ranking 11th for the week.

CBS' Sunday line helped the network to Weekly tie at the top with NBC. Leading into the Sunday Movie was the previously mentioned TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, which drew 26.9 million viewers. Earlier, 60 MINUTES grabbed 23 million viewers and finishing 6th for the week.

The top 20 chart consisted of 8 programs from NBC, 4 from CBS, 5 from ABC, and FOX placed 3.
