Powered by the AFC Championship game on Sunday night, CBS completely dominates the ratings for the week of Januay 14, 2013.
The prime time game drew 47.7 million viewers and a 16.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. This was up 1.2 million viewers from the last time CBS aired the conference championship game in prime time. However, A18-49 ratings were down 1.2 points.
On the viewers chart, CBS take 17 of the top 20 spots. This includes tow repeat episodes of THE BIG BANG THEORY. With exception to its Saturday night line up, every other CBS program is within the top 31 spots. That is just 11 spots to split among the three... um, two other networks. NBC failed to place a program in the top 30. CBS also took 7 of the top 10 charted programs in the A18-49 ratings.
FOX did well with AMERICAN IDOL as it placed #3 and #5 in viewers and #2 & #3 in the demo ratings, with its two night season premiere. Two original episodes of BONES placed in the top 30 at #26 and #28 in total viewers.
ABC's lone hit on the air, MODERN FAMILY, grabbed the #15 spot in viewers, but was the #4 program in the demo ratings.GREY'S, ONCE UPON A TIME, SCANDAL and THE BACHELOR all placed in the top 20 demo chart.
Without its big guns of THE VOICE and SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, NBC placed just one program, THE BIGGEST LOSER, in the top 20 demo ratings chart. A large majority of the NBC program rate 40th or lower in the demo rating and the viewer chart. It will be a long 2 months for NBC until THE VOICE RETURNS.
