Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 14, 2012
CBS leads the night on the strength of its classic holiday specials. RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER drew 6.6 million viewers and a 1.9 demo rating at 8:00 p.m. That led into the two 1/2 hour specials, which averaged 5.9 million viewers and a 1.6 demo rating. The only down spot of the night for CBS was its CBS News Special coverage. Viewers instinctively flipped the channel to either ABC (20/20) or NBC (DATELINE). CBS was 3rd in both viewers (5.7 million) and demo ratings (1.2).
NBC's DATELINE not only was the #1 program, in the demo ratings, but it increased from it's TAKE IT ALL demo lead in by 82%, Needless to say, it was NBC's only bright spot of the night.
