Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 19, 2012

FOX and THE X-FACTOR take the night that is mostly filled with repeat programming. The competition program posted a 2.7 demo rating and 8.35 million viewers. This is on par with its season average, which actually disappointing since it was Part 1 of the season finale.

NBC was the only other network that was all original programming. The 2012 Miss Universe pageant drew 6.1 million viewers and a 1.8 demo rating. Not much has been expected of this or any of the beauty pageants in recent years. Since cable and the easy access to the internet, its common place to see as much skin as you want without commercial interruption. as long as the rights fees are cheap, it is a good holiday filler, for any network.

With almost no competition, CHICAGO FIRE was back up in the ratings with a 1.9 demo rating and 6.8 million viewers. It is always a good sign when a program can build on its lead in, even if the lead in is not delivering that much to begin with.
