Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 6, 2012
ABC's SCANDAL is slowing becoming this season's sleeper hit series. In recent weeks, SCANDAL has been showing gains 10% to 20% in the A18-49 demographic ratings. This Thursday's 2.5 rating easily beat CBS' ELEMENTARY by nearly 20%. This was the first time the young Sophomore series beat the heavily hyped CBS crime drama. Along with the 2.5 demo rating, SCANDAL drew 7.4 million viewers, both season highs.
THE BIG BANG THEORY continued its dominance with 16.9 million viewers and a strong 5.2 demo rating. This was down, slightly, from the previous week's ratings by 230,000 viewers and a 0.3 points in the demo ratings. It may not be the #1 scripted show on TV, but it is still the #1 comedy on TV.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, NBC may have had one of its worse Thursdays ever. Of course, we could almost say that about peacock network EVERY Thursday. As a network, NBC averaged a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49 and drew 3.5 million viewers. All five NBC programs, when added up collectively barely beat THE BIG BANG THEORY in total viewers (16.94 to 17.15). We will see if DO NO HARM will make in difference once it inherits the 10:00 p.m. slot, after the new year.
