Ratings: Broadcast Finals for November 28, 2012
THE X-FACTOR is not quite dead yet as FOX wins the night in the young demo with a 2.9 rating over the full two hours. The competition series didn't outright win either hour, it was a stable and consistent performer.
Perhaps the best Christmas TV special of all time, CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS pulls in 8.9 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in Adults 18-49. Although SURVIVOR did have more viewers (10.4 million) CHARLIE BROWN did tie for the hours top spot in the A18-49 demographic. Not bad for a program that is 47 years old.
MODERN FAMILY continues the trend with the nights best number in the demo, a 4.7 rating and pulled in 12 million viewers. That is a slight improvement from its last original episodes, two weeks earlier.
Over on CBS, all three programs drew audiences over 10 million viewers, with both CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI exceeding 12 million. CBS is also had all of their shows from the night post demo ratings over a 2.5.
NBC fared better this Wednesday than most other Wednesdays, because it chose not to air its regularly scheduled programming. CHRISTMAS AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER pulled in over 9 million viewers and a 2.1 demo rating, about 50%, or more, than the comedies have pulled all season. the SNL CHRISTMAS special also improved normal NBC ratings over its two hours with nearly 7.4 million viewers and a 2.7 demo rating. However, if you look at the chart of the half hour trends, SNL was trailing off each half hour.
