Ratings: Broadcast Finals for November 15, 2012
For the second week in a row, THE BIG BANG THEORY sets All-Time series highs in viewership by attracting 17.6 million viewers last night. That is nearly 5% above last week's All-Time series high. THE BIG BANG THEORY will be the second most watched program of the week, after SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.
BIG BANG's effect was felt through the night on CBS as TWO AND A HALF MEN posted its best A18-49 numbers of the season, as did PERSON OF INTEREST. PERSON OF INTEREST was just edged out by GREY'S ANATOMY in the demo ratings. Even freshman crime drama ELEMENTARY posted its best demo numbers over the last month.
Over on FOX, the ratings continue to slide for THE X-FACTOR and GLEE. THE X-FACTOR posted 7.5 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in the demo, but that was good enough to finish second in the 8:00p.m. hour. GLEE's viewership was in the low 5 million range and just barely kept above the Mendoza line with a 2.1 demo rating.
For The CW, things were looking fairly good. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES came in third in the A18-49 ratings with an average of 1.3, besting NBC's horrid comedies and ABC's LAST RESORT. However, the network should be concerned with the over 50% errosion by BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Falling to a 0.6 from a 1.3 will not get it a second season. But, this is the CW...
The only thing making ABC look good, besides GREY'S ANATOMY's numbers, is that NBC is much, much worse. Just cancelled LAST RESORT posted all-time lows in viewership with just 5.7 million viewers and tied its series low 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. At 9:00 p.m., GREY'S was second to POI in viewership with 8.84 and edged by POI in the demo ratings with 3.2, second lowest demo rating of the season. It is also down about 27% from its season premiere when it posted a 4.4 demo rating. SCANDAL rounded out the night with a 2nd place showing of 6 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the demo.
NBC was really bad last night. It was either 4th or last in each half hour. It "Peaked" with THE OFFICE at 4.2 million viewers and hit the lowest with 3.1 million viewers for UP ALL NIGHT.
