Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 28, 2012
It may have been premiere week Friday, but the ratings don't look as if people are excited for the return of original programming as they start their weekend.
It was split leadership for ABC, CBS and NBC. NBC claimed the top program in Adults 18-49, with a 1.6 rating for the Friday time slot premiere of GRIMM. Not an impressive rating, but it is always good to be on top.
CBS claimed the most viewed program with BLUE BLOODS grabbing 11.2 million viewers, dominating the competition. CBS was also the most watched network on the night with an average of 9.38 million viewers. Dragging down that average was the series premiere of MADE IN JERSEY. The feel good law drama lost over 14% of its lead in audience from CSI: NY. CBS will need to make a change to get back to the levels it had last season.
ABC tied CBS for the network average in Adults 18-49, as both posted 1.3 ratings for the night. SHARK TANK posted nice numbers for an 8:00 p.m. series on a Friday night, and it bested veteran CSI:NY in the demo. ABC also got decent encore numbers for LAST RESORT's pilot episode. We'll see if that can translate into anything this coming Thursday.
With almost everything down, FOX's FRINGE actually looked competitive with the competition. It was tied for second in the time slot with its 1.1 demo rating. But, unless it posts huge gains, FRINGE will be done, as scheduled, in January.
