Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 22, 2012

The third and last Presidential debate was held on Monday night, so it was a limited broadcast schedule for three of the five networks.

NBC takes the night with THE VOICE flexing a strong 12 million viewers and a 4.2 rating in A18-49. It was the top program in the demo, almost two full pints above anything else. THE VOICE delivered an audience that stayed to watch both the debate and the NBC NEWS Post-Debate Analysis at 10:30. NBC easily had the the most watched analysis program with 9.3 million viewers and a 3.2 demo rating.

FOX got to skip round three of the debates as Game #7 of the NCLS was played between St. Louis and San Francisco. It was the highest rated game of the 7 game series and tied for 2nd place (2.4 rating) in the A18-49 demo ratings. FOX now has San Francisco vs Detroit in the world series, which starts this Wednesday.

The CW was completely dead and could not take advantage of the lesser competition. GOSSIP GIRL was up from the week before, but both shows failed to crack a million viewers. Both of these shows need to be banished to Friday nights and allow NIKITA to be pared with a better show for ratings growth for both that program and the network.
