Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 24, 2012
Lets get right to the numbers for the firs day of the 2012-13 TV season.On FOX, BONES is solid as ever it retained 95% of it viewers from last week's season premiere. It kept 100% of the Adults 18-49, both weeks at a 2.3 rating
THE MOB DOCTOR is all but dead. It lost 25% of its week ago audience. The demo rating is not as sever, down 13%, but last week's starting point was to low to begin with. We might get one more episode, but it will not be around for the November sweeps.
On NBC, THE VOICE did drop a little with the added competition, but well within acceptable ranges. In both categories, THE VOICE retained 90% or better from last week's episode. The two cycle renewal it just received was well earned.REVOLUTION did easily win its time period, but the lost of nearly 25% in both categories is alarming. It really needs to stabilize now before things get out of control.
CBS was down across the board. To compare number from last year is a little unfair when you consider the bumps all the shows got from the TWO AND A HALF MEN, Ashton Kutcher introduction. The most disappointing is PARTNERS losing 25% of HIMYM's lead in. This comedy will be the HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN of 2012.Also disappointing for CBS was HAWAII FIVE-O. Those numbers down right bad. Nothing can sugar coat it. Its only hope is a huge bump come LIVE+7 ratings in a couple of weeks.
ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS is down 25% in viewers from last year's premiere and almost 40% in the 18-49 demo ratings. THE VOICE has stolen a lot of its audience, especially the younger viewers.CASTLE was not as bad in its total audience retention from last year's premiere. Only a 21% loss. But the demo is down a whopping 48%. Going from a 3.2 rating to a 2.1 rating is bad news for the drama. Heck, the whole night is bad news for ABC.
