XXX Summer Olympics Ratings: Days 1 - 3

Viewers don't seem to care about the prime events being delayed until prime time.. NBC is having one of its best performances in the Nielsen Ratings for an Olympic broadcast.

The time shifting broadcast is really not an issue to the average viewer. They are at work during the day, and the UK is five hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone, so they would miss all the Olympic events if NBC aired them LIVE. Time shifting allows the most amount of people to enjoy the events, in prime time. 28.72 million viewers, on a Saturday night, proves that point.

But, this is not the first time the media has whined about NBC's time shifting of events. When the Olympics were in Australia and Greece, The same compleints, from the media, where cried. In fact, I can remember ESPN, specifically, doing a lot of crying about this. It must have been a lot of sour grapes since ESPN/ABC lost the bid to take back the Olympic games.
