TV on DVD: HATFIELDS & MACCOYS (Blu-Ray)

The epic History six hour miniseries HATFIELDS & MCCOYS is now available on Blu-Ray from Amazon for $39.95. In my opinion, this is truly one of the best mini-series in decades. Kevin Costner odes a great job with this project, both in front of and behind the camera. The event has been nominated for 16 Emmy awards, including Outstanding Mini Series, Lead Actor (Kevin Costner & Bill Paxon), Supporting Actree (Mare Winningham), Supporting Actor (Tom Berenger) and Directing (Kevin Reynolds).

The Hatfield-McCoy saga centers on "Devil" Anse Hatfield and Randall McCoy. Close friends and comrades during the Civil War, they returned to their neighboring homes - Hatfield in West Virginia, McCoy just across the Tug River border in Kentucky - to increasing tensions, misunderstandings and resentments that soon exploded into all-out warfare between the families. As hostilities grew, friends, neighbors and outside forces joined the fight, bringing the two states to the brink of another Civil War.
