VIDEO: First Look at NBC's THE NEW NORMAL

NBC said this was a comedy, but the clip from the pilot below does not confirm that statement. I would think that if you want viewers to watch you comedy program, you would give samples of what kind of humor it has and how funny it is. THE NEW NORMAL could be, based on the clip, a 30 minute drama. I really couldn't tell the difference.

It was nice to see Justin Bartha (NATIONAL TREASURE) in a series again. He does have good comedic acting skills. Ellen Barkin can be good in comedic roles, if it is the right role.

THE NEW NORMAL will potentially be going up against NCIS:LA (or another CBS Drama), THE MINDY PROJECT on FOX and DWTS Results show on ABC. I give it a 3 out of 10 for timeslot survivability and how unfunny the clips from the pilot are.
