VIDEO: First Look at NBC's CHICAGO FIRE

CHICAGO FIRE is about those of the Firefighters, Rescue Squad and Paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. The courageous men and women who forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. But the enormous responsibilities of the job also take a personal toll.

The clip gives us a spectacular fire action scene that we may expect to see every episode, but it will be the drama and conflict of the characters that will drive this Dick Wolf produced series to success. Will viewers watch a firefighter based drama on a regular basis?  There really has not been a lot of success with this concept. Only EMERGENCY, from the early 70's, is the only series I can remember that had success with firefighters as the profession of the characters.

CHICAGO FIRE is going up against CSI and REVENGE. If it wants to succeed, it will need to pull loyalties from CSI. A tough task, even if CSI will be entering its 13th season. I give it a 6 out of 10 to see Christmas.
