Previewing Fall 2012 Monday Nights.
Come September 2012, Monday nights will not look that much different than September 2011 looked. There are only three series new to the night, tow rookies and the veteran 90201. Ratings should not look much different.
It is not impossible to see NBC win Monday night, but that will all hinge on REVOLUTION. If viewers are attracted to it, as they were to LOST, then NBC could be on the up-swing of its recovery.
Mondays at 8:00pm:
The CW's 90210 moves in from Tuesday night, but its luck will not change. Expect the tired drama to struggle getting one million viewers. DANCING WITH THE STARS, THE VOICE and the CBS Comedies will all be battling for the most viewers. DWTS should win that battle as an All-Star edition is coming. CBS will be a little weaker with 2 BROKE GIRLS moving to the 9pm slot. PARTNERS will not generate 2BG level numbers. THE VOICE will be first or second in the demo ratings, but may end in third in total viewers. FOX will struggle for ratings. BONES is a strong utility player, but it will still be a 4th place showing on tough time slot.
Mondays at 9:00pm:
2 BROKE GIRLS will be down from huge TWO AND A HALF MEN's numbers of last fall. I expect it to fight for first in the demo ratings, with THE VOICE, but should be second in total viewers to DWTS. THE MOB DOCTOR will do nothing for FOX at 9:00pm. I don't expect the series to last to long and we will see encore programming for November sweeps. GOSSIP GIRL is a dead show. Enough said.
Mondays at 10:00pm:
Its round three of HAWAII FIVE-O vs CASTLE and like the 2011-12 season, H5O should win the battle in both viewers and demo ratings. CASTLE will have strong viewer numbers since it will follow DWTS, again, but the demo ratings will be low. The wild card will be NBC's REVOLUTION from JJ Abrams. The show look really good, but can a sci-fi drama top the procedural dramas? I expect REVOLUTION to, initially, beat CASTLE in the demo ratings, but it will fall short in the total viewers. It is not impossible to see NBC win Monday night, but that will all hinge on REVOLUTION. If viewers are attracted to it, as they were to LOST, then NBC could be on the up-swing of its recovery.
