Final Broadcast Ratings: January 15, 2017

NBC ended up as the luckiest network of the night, with the move of the NFL Playoff game from 1 PM to 8:30 PM, eastern time, to dramatically boost its primetime ratings. The tightly contested game drew and kept 37.1 million viewers though 11:30 PM. With the schedule change, expect NBC to win the week in the ratings.

FOX had the most watched program, the one hour of overrun of the Green Bay vs Dallas playoff game, as it brought in 38.8 million viewers into primetime, but the game averaged 45 million though the afternoon. But, FOX was hoping for a strong boost from the game, into its primetime lineup, as it scheduled a special one hour episode of THE SIMPSONS and another Sunday airing of the new comedy, THE MICK. But with the NFL moving the AFC game to the night, from the afternoon, those numbers were minimized.

Without any football action, CBS and ABC were far back in the ratings. CBS did edge out ABC for the #3 spot. Only one of the eight programs from the two networks managed to score a demo rating at or above a 1.0.
