Final Broadcast Ratings: July 31, 2016

CBS and ABC battle it out for a virtual tie on Sunday night, with both networks posting identical A18-34 and A18-49 demographics. CBS had slightly more total viewers and ABC did slightly better in the A25-54 demographic.

The overrun of the the PGA Championship was the most watch program in primetime, collecting 8.7 million viewers. The golf major also posted the best A18-34 demo, a 1.0 rating, and was third in the A25-54 demo, on the night. BIG BROTHER was tops in the three demos.

ABC's three game shows continue to do well, with all three hours posting over a 1.0 rating in the A18-49 demo.

FOX had the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS, but they did no better, and perhaps worse, than encores of the regular Sunday comedies. Less than two million viewers tuned in and the A18-49 ratings was only slightly better than its BOB'S BURGERS encore lead in. The network was last on the night, losing to NBC's encores, from 8 to 11 PM.
