Ratings Review: CBS THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (Fall 2015)

The second year of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on CBS rose year-to-year in the ratings. Good, close games, for the most part, help keep viewers tuned in late into the night, unlike last years string of blowout games. TNF should be here to stay, but will CBS still have the rights?

For the season, THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on CBS averaged 17.42 million viewers, a 5.1 rating in Adults 18-34, a 6.0 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 6.8 rating in Adults 25-54.

If the NFL continues the package as it is, it may need to sign a long term contract with CBS, or another network. CBS has the pockets to pay the money needed, but CBS All-Access streaming may need to be included in any new deal.
