US Box Office Results: November 6 - 8, 2015
The latest James Bon movie, SPECTRE, collected an impressive $73 million in its opening weekend, easily taking the the #1 spot away from last week's #1, THE MARTIN. The $73 million take is the second best for a Bond film, just behinds 2012's SKYFALL. This is the 25th movie of the franchise, 24th from EON productions, and the franchise is as healthy as it has ever been.
The #2 movie of the weekend is the G rated, THE PEANUTS MOVIE, which brought in $45 million. The opening is the 9th best ever by a G rated movie, third best by a non-Pixar movie. If THE PEANUTS movie can trend as well as RATATOUILLE, which took in $47 million its first weekend, then the movie should have a total take around $200 million.
THE MARTIAN added another nine million dollars to its take and should pass $200 million, domestically, sometime next week. The movies worldwide take is now $458 million.
