Ratings Review: THE WALKING DEAD (Season Five - Fall 2014)

Simply put, THE WALKING DEAD is the #1 series on TV. No other series can produce 14 million viewers AND a demo rating above a five. No other TV series can do better then primetime NFL games, on most Sundays. No other series can grab as many viewers from the many various age demographics.

Both the season premiere and the mid-season finale recorded record numbers for the series. If L+3 and/or L+7 ratings were being reported on a regular basis, I would THE WALKING DEAD would be the #1 program in both total viewers and in the A18-49 demographic. The season premiere added over five million viewers and nearly three full ratings point int he demo, above the L+SD numbers.

For the fall half of season five, THE WALKING DEAD averaged 14.56 million viewers and a 7.5 rating in Adults 18-49. The second half of the season returns in February and season six has already been ordered by AMC. And, don't forget the upcoming companion series, which should air sometime in 2015.
