Final Broadcast Ratings: December 12, 2014

It was a low rated, but competitive Friday night in the broadcast ratings. ABC, NBC and CBS were within two tenths of a ratings point, in the A18-49 demographic, while FOX and the CW battled it out for the #4 spot, with the CW coming within 200k in total viewers and two tenths of a point, in the demo.

The night's most watched program was BLUE BLOODS, recording over 11.1 million viewers and the second best demo number, a 1.2 rating. Despite it being three week's since the regular line up intact, all three CBS programs were within a tenth of point of each other, in the demo.

NBC had two programs pull down the top A18-49 ratings of the night, as both DATELINE and GRIM scored a 1.3 rating. Had it not been for CONSTANTINE pulling the average down, the Peacock network could have taken the night.

ABC struggled a bit as the two comedies fell slight below their season averages, during the 8 p.m. hour, finishing in the #3 spot. Things did not get better as SHARK TANK posted its lowest A18-49 rating of the season, a 1.5. It doe go to show you how bad the night is, when ABC can still top the demo, with one of its worst nights of the season.

The CW aired an encore airing of the new TNT series, THE LIBRARIANS. The series premiere episode drew a relatively decent 1.6 million viewers, jut a little behind FOX's two hour encore of MASTERCHEF JR. I wonder if a regular dose of THE LIBRARIANS encores would do well on the CW?
