Ratings Review: SCANDAL (Season Four - Fall 2014)

SCANDAL maintained its "flagship" status as ABC's top scripted series of the network. Early on, it looked as if the freshmen series HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER was going to take it away, but as time progressed, SCANDAL remained strong, while MURDER slid down in the ratings.

Usually, I wait for the full season to publish broadcast network ratings reviews, but with the networks adapting the cable model of splitting the season in two, I will adapt these post to reflect that change.

SCANDAL is still on of the stronger dramas on network TV. With time shifted viewing growing each season, it is an accomplishment for a drama to get a 3.0+ demo rating, on a regular basis. Only two of the eight episodes failed to make that level.

SCANDAL is also one of the stronger shows in DVR viewing, adding three to four million viewers for each episode and the demo rating jumps roughly a point and a half, or about 50%.

For the fall, SCANDAL averaged 10.18 million viewers and a 3.2 rating in Adults 18-49, for its Live+SD ratings. The L7 numbers jump to 13.9 million viewers and a 4.8 demo rating.
