Ratings Review: THE GOOD WIFE (Season Six - Fall 2014)

The fall half of the 2014-15 TV season has THE GOOD WIFE taking a break during the holiday season, with THE MENTALIST filling in for  few weeks. The first 10 weeks of the season were good for THE GOOD WIFE, but could they have been better?

Placed firmly in the 9 p.m. slot, THE GOOD WIFE rare is affected by the NFL overrun games that can push the drama's start time to as late as 10 p.m. It rarely sees a bump from the increased lead in audience the NFL brings at 7:30 to 8 p.m., nor does it take a hit because of the delayed start times, unlike CSI.

The ratings hare very consistent and solid. A mid-one in the A18-49 ratings, along with 10.5 million viewers each week. It does lose some viewers from its MADAM SECRETARY lead in, but is within acceptable rages, most Sunday nights.

The Live+7 ratings are not bad, getting two and a half to three million more viewers, but the A18-49 ratings rarely do much more, never getting within a top 25 ranking, in either percentage added or most gains in the ratings.

For the fall, THE GOOD WIFE averaged 10.64 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49. With enough data points, the series averages near 13.4 million viewers, in the Live+7 ratings.
