Ratings Review: MASTERS OF SEX (Season Two)

MASTERS OF SEX is a very typical series from Showtime. Lots of "buzz," critically acclaimed and low rated. With all the hype the series received this season, you would expect at least one episode to bring in more than a million viewers. But hey, its Showtime!

The lack of ratings success is amplified by the true success the Starz series OUTLANDER actually received, during the same time of year, on a less viewed night (Saturdays). Both series started with similar numbers, in the summer, but come the fall, OUTLANDER is drawing 60% more viewers than MASTERS OF SEX. Or, any other Showtime series.

For the second season, MASTER OF SEX averaged just 810,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49. The series will be back in 2015 for a 12 episode, third season.
