Ratings Review: SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (Summer 2014)

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is way beyond its ratings prime. The series should have ended in 2012, but FOX has kept it alive. But, after this 2014 summer season, the low ratings may finally doom the dance competition series.

The ratings for SYTYCD began to look encouraging. Mid to high ones in the A18-49 ratings and hovering around five million viewers. But, once a little original competition hit the time slot, the numbers tanked. The numbers dove to just a mid-three million viewer level and the show struggled to stay at a 1.0 demo rating. FOX, it is time to end the series, now.

For the season SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE averaged 4.11 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. If follows recent trends, we should know the fate of the series in early September.
