Ratings Review: VIKINGS (Season Two)

History has such a rich potential in the production of scripted series. Using history as the back drop, it can present almost any story, fiction or non-fiction. VIKINGS is a perfect first example of History getting it right in presenting a scripted series from a network that is more known for it's documentaries and reality shows.

Now out of the shadow of the mini-series of THE BIBLE (2013), VIKINGS proves it is a ratings generator, ranking high in each week's cable rankings. The ratings are earned by the high production values, great story lines and interesting characters. This is one of the best cable dramas on TV today. If you have not watched it, you owe it to yourself to at least try it.

For the season, VIKINGS averaged 3.22 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49. The nulti-national production was renewed for a third season, by A&E, with a planned spring of 2015 run schedule. One major plot point is the attack by the Vikings of the Roman held city of Paris.
