Ratings Review: SHARK TANK (Season Five)

It may not be the most watched, but SHARK TANK is one of the strongest Friday programs, based on it's A18-49 ratings, on a night where that demographic is usually not at home. And, being on ABC, it is one of the top shows, from any night.

SHARK TANK is one of the most consistent shows on TV, drawing a solid average of viewers and not dropping once the spring arrives. The series reached a demographic rating of 2.0, or better, seventeen times this season. That may be more than all other Friday night series, from the other networks, combined together.

As a reality series SHARK TANK actually does decent LIVE+7 ratings. The A18-49 ratings jump about 30-35 percent, while total viewership increased by about 1.5 million. Not great numbers, but for a Friday night reality series, it is strong.

For the season, SHARK TANK averaged 6.77 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49, for 36 airings, including seven repeat episodes and one special Thursday night airing of a new episode. Next season should continue to be dominate for SHARK TANK as most opponents are returning to the night, but the new FOX reality series UTOPIA could cause trouble, if it catches on with viewers.
