Ratings Review: GRIMM (Season Three)

Even for Friday night programming, GRIMM is no more than a modest series, drawing just above respectable ratings, for NBC. but that is the key. NBC has little bright spots on the schedule and even a modest performer can have a long run, on the network.

The ratings are fairly typical of the series, pulling in between 4.5 to 6.0 million viewers, each week. NBC rarely schedules an encore episodes, getting just one such airing this season. Between the late start and more than a half dozen preemptions, GRIMM's number may look better than most series, because of the lack of repeat numbers.

In the LIVE+7 day ratings, GRIM does pull in good numbers, adding at least a full ratings point in the A18-49 demographic, with an increase of roughly 50% in the viewership numbers. It regularly makes the DVR charts because of the strong percentage of growth, after the 7th day of viewing.

For the season, GRIMM averaged 5.22 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 23 airings, including one encore. if NBC can find a companion series for GRIMM, I think you could see the numbers for GRIMM increase as viewers may stay home to watch a couple of hours of their favorite Sci-fi/Fantasy action series.
