Ratings Review: FRIENDS WITH BETTER LIVES (Season One)

It is tough for a late mid-season comedy to make it to the next fall's TV schedule, and FRIENDS WITH BETTER LIVES (#FWBL) is no different. Mediocre ratings for a CBS series rarely tolerated.

Filling the voice of the departing HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, #FWBL actually had a very similar look. Fitting since it followed the series finale of HIMYM. But once it was in it's regular 8:30 slot, behind 2 BROKE GIRLS, the ratings never took off.

CBS cancelled the series after eight episodes, but I do not believe it was for poor ratings. The ratings were not bad, considering the relative ratings of the rest of the CBS Monday night line up. But, CBS did make a good decision to drop #FWBL and help promote the first season series MOM, before it enters it's second season, this fall.

For the eight episodes, FRIENDS WITH BETTER LIVES averaged 5.63 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49. It is unknown if CBS will ever air the remaining four episodes. but, at the very least, you should be able to catch them once the series hits Netflix and Amazon Prime.
