Ratings Review: CHICAGO FIRE (Season Two)
Now after two season, we can classify CHICAGO FIRE as a moderate hit, for NBC. Something that has eluded the network for much of the 21st century. If NBC ever regains it's old glory, CHICAGO FIRE will have been the leader in that resurrection.
CHICAGO FIRE is about as consistent of a series as you can get. 7.5 to 9.0 million viewers and a low two demo rating is what it pulls, week-in and week-out. Only the typical spring erosion drops it's numbers below that level. Although, it is very competitive, it still second in it's time period to CSI.
In the DVR Numbers, we see viewership gow by nearly three million and a one demo rating, in just three days. And, by the seventh day, the numbers are over three million and approach 50% gains in the A18-49 numbers. And, these are numbers that are of a decent size, to start with.
For the season, CHICAGO FIRE averaged 7.06 million viewers and a 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 25 airings, including just three encore episodes. That may be the one weak link in the NBC programs. Little repeatability. Getting more bang for the buck on an episode comes with an encore airing.
