Ratings Review: AFV (2013-14 Season)

AFV is a deceptively successful series. it pulls in ratings better than most of the sitcoms, on ABC, yet with little to no promotion from ABC. Just imagine if ABC put a little effort behind AFV, what kind of hit that could have, again.

Week in, and week out, AFV would pull in between sic and seven million viewers and a decent mid-one rating in Adults 18-49. That is against much higher profile programming, like the NFL overrun games, 60 MINUTES and the 'toons on FOX. The series would even flirt with the occational top 30 showing, in some weeks'

AFV is not a show that viewers bother to record. If they catch it, all the better. If they miss it, there are reruns on ABC Family.

For the season, AFV averaged 6.08 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 28 airings, including six encore episodes. Next season is Tom Bergeron's last season with the franchise. but I believe that the series will continue to live a successful life, beyond the next host, and perhaps the next host after that.
