Rating Review: LAST MAN STANDING (Season Three)

LAST MAN STANDING could be a bigger ratings draw if it was not virtually left alone in the lowest viewed time slot, of a Friday night. The lack of a successful sitcom companion at 8:30, hurts this 3rd year comedy. But, with that, it is still a consistent draw that battles to win it's time slot, each week.

Viewers, like myself, give up the 8 p.m. hour because of the avoidance of the terrible 8:30 p.m. sitcom THE NEIGHBORS. ABC needs, must, cancel THE NEIGHBORS to find a good comedy to pair with LAST MAN STANDING. Thus, not only improving the 8:30 slot, but also improving the numbers for LSM.

For the season, LAST MAN STANDING averaged 5.87 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49, over 29 airings, including 7 repeat episodes. It also has a positive L+7 ratings, gaining around a half a ratings point, in the demo ratings.

A good move for ABC would be to move THE GOLDBERGS to Fridays nights to have a solid 8 p.m. hour and, perhaps, an unbeatable Friday night line up.
