Ratings Review: ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND (Season One)

ABC had a ratings turkey on it's had, from the very beginning. ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND quickly repelled fans of the parent series after it's luke warm series premiere. By November 2013, the demographic ratings sunk below a 1.0, almost to never to return. Viewership also fell below 4 million, but ABC had so many failures in the fall, it chose to stay with OUATIW through the 13 episode order.

It was not a bad idea to spin of one of the more popular series on the network, but the original OUAT itself is seeing the ratings falter. This spin-off may have done better had it came after the first season, or season and a half of the parent series, much like how CHICAGO PD has done well, 18 months after the series premiere of CHICAGO FIRE.

For the 13 episodes, ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND averaged just 3.75 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. the four episode of above 1.0 demo ratings had just enough weight to keep the average at a one rating.

I would not be surprised if this series is somehow wrapped up in the syndication package of the original ONCE UPON A TIME series. Why waste the 13 episode when you can get some value back from them.
