Ratings Review: AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL (Fall 2013)

What began as a promising rebound to the aged reality competition series, quickly turned to another ho-hum season for TOP MODEL. The nearly three million viewers for the premiere looked very good for the network. It was a shot in the arm the network and the series needed, but once the horrible lead ins began in the second week of the season, ANTM was nothing more than filler for the time slot.
Only diehard fans know if the GUYS vs GIRLS format worked or not. From the outside looking in, the gimmick seasons do not seem to be breathing new life into the series. The CW is wise at keeping the series to just one cycle per year. Something that SURVIVOR and DANCING WITH THE STARS should look at closely.

For the season, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL averaged 1.25 million viewers and a 0.43 rating in Adults 18-49. That is below the weekly average The CW gets during the fall of 2013. The series really should have been cancelled, but there will be a 21st cycle coming in 2014.
