Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 20, 2013
CBS did get a boost by the NFL overrun, until the Mentalist came on at about 10:30 ET. It was the only series of the four, on CBS, to have lower numbers than the week previous. Something has to give with this set up. Either build in a half hour that can be pulled or just do not schedule one of the hour long shows when the network has the national doubleheader. Perhaps 90 minute editions of THE AMAZING RACE on Sundays such as this?
FOX was just filling time on Sunday with no game #7 of the ALCS. Reruns of the animated comedies drew little interest. Luckily, the World Series schedule has change to keep game #7 off the weekend, otherwise, FOX could have had the same issue on November 3.
ABC's ONCE UPON A TIME is the only scripted program of the night with a demo rating over a 2.0.
