Ratings Review: SCANDAL (Season Two)

SCANDAL was a surprise modiste performer during its short rookie season in the spring of 2012. In the season season, the series proved it was no fluke and has become a surprise hit for ABC.

Starting out the season where it left off in the spring, SCANDAL drew around 6.5 million viewers and a low two in the A18-49 ratings. but as the season progressed, the word of the series spread and the ratings gee. By the spring of 2013, the series had improved its numbers by two million viewers and an increase of 30% in the demo ratings. Between the season premiere and the season finale, SCANDAL had an improvement of 2.4 million viewers and 52% increase in the A18-49 ratings.

For the season, SCANDAL averaged 6.5 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49 for its 30 airings, including six encore episodes. SCANDAL may now be the flag ship drama for ABC as it began beating its lead in GREY'S ANATOMY in the ratings. Expect more of the same from SCANDAL in the 2013-14 season.
