Ratings Review: BONES (Season Eight)

In a season where there were few bright spots for FOX, BONES shined brightly on the network.

BONES was one of the few FOX programs that did not have the ratings drop out from under it. AMERICAN IDOL, THE X-FACTOR, GLEE, and so some extent, The Animated Comedies, all lost viewers and dominance in the ratings. BONES was the one solid program the network could count on.

The season started out rather un eventful, drawing an average viewership in the low 7 million range. But once FOX finally found another solid show to pare it up with, the ratings climbed. Once THE FOLLOWING hit Monday Nights, Viewership rose between 1.5 to 2 million viewers. The demo ratings also increased from 10 to 20 percent.

For the season, BONES averaged 7.3 million viewers and a 2.0 demo rating. That includes the four repeat episodes and the usual Spring Slide all series experience once March comes around. BONES will be back for the 2013-14 season and as long as it has a strong series pared with it, ratings should continue to be solid and it will be a slot FOX does not need to worry about.
