Ratings Review: HOTEL HELL

Hotel HellGordon Ramsey has done it again. He now has four successful series on FOX with his newest entry HOTEL HELL.

HOTEL HELL has a familiar formula. Gordon visits an establishment. Tells the owners how crappy it is. Curses for a while, and then transforms a failing business to a potentially successful business. The only difference about this series is that it is not about food. But the viewers did not care.

The series premiere of HOTEL HELL was above average. 5.1 million viewers and a very decent 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic. But, unlike more series, the ratings rose over the next few weeks. It peaked in week four  with just under six million viewers and a 2.4 demo rating. it was now a top five summer series, in the important demographic ratings.

The only down side HOTEL HELL had was having the finale two episodes fo the season air on Labor Day. The lower holiday viewing levels did show in the ratings. An average of just 4.4 million viewers watch the final two hours on September 3rd. The demo ratings also fell to a 1.8. But, those numbers were not all that important. It had already secured a second season order from FOX.

So, come Summer of 2013, we should be seeing up to five hours of Gordon Ramsey each week. But then again, FOX may orde ryet another series from the very likeable Brit.
