Ratings Review: UNFORGETTABLE

UNFORGETTABLE had everything going for it and just one thing going against it... Being on CBS.It had strong viewer ratings, but its 18-49 demographic ratings were average, at best, and fell from there.

Through the fall, UNFORGETTABLE was pulling good numbers. 11 million viewers and a mid two in the demo rating. it was consistently winning its time period. the only down side was the retention loss from its lead in, NCIS: LA. That loss was roughly 25%.

After the new year the total viewership did drop slightly, maybe by and average of 10%, but it was the demo ratings that were taking a big hit. That mid-two rating average dropped below a 2.0 average rating. A loss 20% to 30%. I am sure that drop is why UNFORGETTABLE was not originally picked up for a second season.

UNFORGETTABLE was a top 20 program, in total viewership, but was ranking in the 30's, 40's even 50's on the 18-49 demographic charts. I understand the initial cancelation, but when a series has so  many viewers and fans, it is sad that it cant continue because the viewers are not of the right age group.

Ultimately, CBS made the right call. Bringing UNFORGETTABLE back for a summer 2013 run. It will attract a good number of viewers and be a great platform to promote its fall 2013 schedule.
