CBS Weekly Ratings Release: January 20 - 26, 2020
CBS took the ratings crown for the second time in 2020. For the week ending Sunday, Jan. 26 (week 18 of the 2019-2020 broadcast season), the Network attracted 7.18 million viewers, beating the closest competition (ABC) by over +3.2 million viewers (3.94 million, +82%).
On Monday, CBS was first in viewers (6.17m). THE NEIGHBORHOOD was second in viewers (6.81m) and was Monday’s #1 scripted program in viewers. BOB ♥ ABISHOLA was second in viewers (6.50m). ALL RISE (3.7/07, 5.81m) was up +20% in adults 18-49 (0.6/03 from 0.5/03) compared to the last first-run episode on Jan. 6. At 10:00 PM, BULL was first in viewers (6.05m).
On Tuesday, CBS was first in viewers (9.06m) behind NCIS (11.36m). The drama was the night’s #1 program in viewers with its largest audience since Nov. 12, 2019. FBI was also tops in viewers (9.24m) and was the night’s #2 program in viewers behind NCIS. At 10:00 PM, FBI: MOST WANTED was first in viewers (6.59m). On Friday, CBS was first in viewers (5.14m) with encores of HAWAII FIVE-0 (5.29m), MAGNUM P.I. (4.99m) and BLUE BLOODS (5.13m) taking the night for the 13th consecutive Friday.
Saturday night’s episode of 48 HOURS (3.49m) was the evening’s top prime program in viewers with its largest audience since Nov. 2, 2019. It was a special Sunday as CBS won the night in viewers (15.93m), adults 25-54 (5.3/19) and adults 18-49 (4.4/20) while more than doubling NBC, ABC and FOX combined in viewers (vs. 7.23m, +120%) and adults 25-54 (vs. 2.0, +165%) and more than tripling in adults 18-49 (vs. 1.4, +214%). CBS posted its best Sunday deliveries in these measures since Feb. 10, 2019 (GRAMMY Sunday last year).
THE GRAMMYS RED CARPET (7:00-8:00 PM) was first in viewers (7.19m), adults 25-54 (1.9/08) and adults 18-49 (1.5/07). THE 62nd ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS (8:00-11:09 pm) delivered 18.69 million viewers, 6.4/23 in adults 25-54, 5.4/24 in adults 18-49 and 4.0/26 in adults 18-34 – dominating the 8:00-11:00 PM time slot. THE 62nd ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS was Sunday’s #1 program in viewers and key demos and posted the largest primetime audience and best demo deliveries for any non-sports/entertainment programming this season. Nielsen Media Research reports that 38.4 million viewers watched all or part of the broadcast.
